On November 5th at JD Fields & Company, Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Houston, JD Fields and Kubota Corporation formalized an exclusive marketing and distribution agreement extending across North America, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
This strategic partnership merges Kubota Corporation's advanced Laqnican Mechanical Splice Joint technology with the established market strength of JD Fields & Company, Inc. and the precision manufacturing capabilities of their JDF-HDM Spiralweld Pipe Mill, delivering a much-needed alternative to traditional field splicing of pipe piles for heavy civil, transportation and marine/port foundations.
For more than two decades, Kubota Corporation's Laqnican Joint has set the standard in Japan and other Asian markets with over 20,000 successful installations. Recognizing substantial growth opportunities for their pipe division in North America, Kubota sought a domestic partner with expansive market reach and manufacturing expertise—one who could seamlessly incorporate their proprietary mechanical splice joint technology with U.S.-based pipe production to deliver an integrated solution directly to project sites.
JD Fields & Company, Inc. and Kubota Corporation are enthusiastic to launch this industry-shaping initiative in 2025. In addition to elevating safety standards, the Laqnican Joint technology offers significant efficiencies in project time, scheduling, labor, and equipment. JD Fields & Company, Inc. is currently quoting the Laqnican Joint for select temporary or private projects that do not require 100% Buy American compliance. While extensive validation testing has confirmed the technology's reliability, JD Fields & Company, Inc. and Kubota Corporation are conducting further mechanical testing in collaboration with leading U.S. universities to ensure optimal load performance in domestic applications. A Buy American-compliant M&M product is anticipated for release by Q1 2026.
